Zoe Hardman insists the girls who take me part in Take Me Out are in it to find love, not fame.
The TV presenter, who co-hosts the ITV2 spin-off show Take Me Out – The Gossip with Mark Wright, pays no attention to critics who say contestants just want to raise their profiles.
She said: “I think the majority of them go on there because, like every other single girl, they want to find a really great boy.
“There are always going to be critics who say they are on it for a different reason, but I don’t listen to that. The girls are just having a brilliant time. They get to go on a great holiday with a hot man.”
She said filming the spin-off show is “even more fun than it looks” and she loves getting the nitty gritty from the couples returning from Fernando’s.
“We don’t know what they’re going to say. They don’t know what we’ve got on camera and obviously they don’t know what their dates will say. They’re genuine reactions. If one slips up and admits the other one did stay over, we’re like, ‘What? Hang on!’ That’s genuine.”
Zoe said it’s “always awkward” when contestants lie about what they got up to with their date, but that the most uncomfortable interviews are the best.
