English star Jason Isaacs is perhaps best known as the evil Lucius Malfoy in the Harry Potter films, but that’s not the only sinister character he plays.

He adopts an American accent to play a modern-day gangster in the critically acclaimed US TV series Brotherhood, the story of two brothers on opposite sides of the law. Jason plays gangster Michael Caffee, and Jason Clarke is his sibling Tommy, a politician.

Jason said: “Every day is torture for Michael. It’s an odd thing for me, Jason the actor, to be on set really enjoying playing someone so terminally miserable and angry.”

Jason compares Brotherhood to hugely popular DVD series The Wire, because it has a complicated story arc running through its three series and is proving more popular as DVD boxset viewing.

Brotherhood is available now on DVD from Paramount Home Entertainment.
