There's drama in Emmerdale next week when Charity Dingle reveals the secret that Lisa Dingle is dying. But who does she tell?
Next week sees Emmerdale’s Charity Dingle struggling to cope with the pressure of keeping Lisa Dingle’s secret that she is dying of a terminal illness.
Emmerdale fans were heartbroken to find out last week that the legendary Lisa will be leaving the show after it was revealed that the character is to be written out after 23 years.
Charity had raced to see her aunt in Scotland after receiving a mysterious phone call… and it was in the soap’s special episode for International Women’s Day that Lisa confessed she was dying from a heart condition.
Lisa had called Charity to visit her in Scotland so that she could start getting things in order before her death, even asking Charity to write her eulogy.
But while Lisa made Charity promise not to tell anyone about her illness, not even her and Zak’s daughter, Belle, Charity has clearly been struggling with the weight of knowing her aunt is dying.
Next week sees Charity’s fiancee Vanessa work out something isn’t right when Charity can’t face talking to Belle.
Vanessa asks Charity what is wrong, and Charity can’t take the pressure any more and blurts out that Lisa is dying, leaving Vanessa speechless.
As Vanessa processes the news, she makes sure she is there for her other half, realising that this is why she has been so vulnerable lately.
But how long will it take for the truth to reach Belle?
With two people in the village now knowing Lisa’s secret, surely it is only a matter of time before Belle discovers her mum’s fate?
And when she does, how will she feel about the fact Lisa and Charity have been keeping such a huge secret from her?
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode at 8pm on Thursdays.
