You can blame the Tories for Holby being moved!
Holby City has been dropped from next Tuesday’s schedule so BBC1 can show a live debate between the Conservative leadership hopefuls.
The hugely popular show is normally on every Tuesday, but the BBC has taken the decision to move it to Thursday next week at 8pm so it can show Our Next Prime Minister, which will be fronted by Emily Maitlis.
It’s a move that’s bound to frustrate Holby City fans and it will be interesting to see how many viewers tune into Our Next Prime Minister compared to a normal Holby episode.
In a further blow for Holby fans in Scotland the show won’t go out at all next week, with the episode likely to go out at a later date.
Tonight’s Holby at least does go out as planned at 8pm, with Dominic Copeland’s abusive ex-lover Isaac Mayfield making a return. And when he doesn’t get the attention he wants from Dom, Isaac focuses his attention elsewhere…
Meanwhile, next week’s episode – now on Thursday 20th June at 8pm – will see an emotional Sacha making a huge romantic gesture, but will he get the response he wants?
EastEnders fans have also seen their favourite soap moved about in the schedules. Last Friday’s episode was moved due to the Women’s Football World Cup and this Friday EastEnders again won’t be on because of the footy. Last month Casualty fans also suffered when the show missed its usual Saturday evening slot due to the Eurovision Song Contest.
Holby City is on tonight at 8pm on BBC1 and next Thursday at 8pm.
