Holby City to see this Coronation Street legend looking almost unrecognisable

Janice Battersby actress pops up in Holby

Holby City on Tuesday night will see Coronation Street legend Vicky Entwistle turning up in a guest role where she looks a million miles away from her days as Janice Battersby.

The 51-year-old star became a household name as combative Janice, who turned up in the Street back in 1997 with her then husband Les, daughter Toyah and step-daughter Leanne.

Vicky made her last appearance as Janice back in 2011. Now, in Tuesday’s episode of Holby City, Vicky will be seen guest starring as stage-4 cancer patient Sandra.

Sandra is being treated on the show by troubled Jac Naylor (played by Rosie Marcel). It’s revealed that Sandra is due to undergo further surgery to remove a tumour, but she tells Jac that she’s exhausted from the chemotherapy that she’s already had and doesn’t want anymore.

Jac then makes a dramatic decision – she decides to override clinical lead Kian and mentor Elliot (played by Paul Bradley, who returned last week for Holby’s 1,0000th episode)!.

Jac says instead she’ll offer Sandra a complex operation that won’t involve chemo, but Elliot’s worried his old friend is taking too much on. However, Sandra declares she’s delighted about the news, especially when Jac tells her she’ll live for many years.

But, in a shocking twist, Sandra dies on the operating table, leaving Jac devastated.
