Holliday plays a detective in The Capture
Here’s a first look snap of Strike star Holliday Grainger in her big new BBC1 drama The Capture.
The upcoming surveillance thriller sees the 31-year-old actress play DI Rachel Carey, who is tasked with investigating ex soldier Shaun Emery (War & Peace’s Callum Turner).
Shaun has previously been convicted for a murder committed during his time in Afghanistan, but the conviction was later overturned due to flawed video evidence.
Delighted to be released, Shaun gets back to being a dad to his young daughter. However, Shaun’s life is thrown into turmoil again when damning CCTV footage emerges of him from a night out in London.
Shaun once again finds himself at the heart of a criminal investigation and this is when he comes to the attention of DI Rachel Carey.
Carey must decide whether she can trust Shaun. The BBC says The Capture is “an acutely timed thriller that looks at a troubling world of fake news and the extraordinary capabilities of the intelligence services. In this ‘post-truth era’, can we really believe what we see?”
Other key cast include Friday Night Dinner star Paul Ritter, who’s also in huge current hit Chernobyl, and The Crown’s Ben Miles. Further casting is to be announced.
The Capture is due to be screened on BBC1 later this year.
