"Stone the flamin' crows!", as Alf Stewart might say. Australian soap Home and Away has now been running for 30 years!

Home and Away is now the second longest-running drama series on TV in Australia (behind Neighbours) after reaching its 30th anniversary this week and screening 6810 episodes to date!

Although the soap is currently off-air Down Under and episodes shown on Channel 5 are several weeks behind, that didn’t stop original series star Kate Ritchie, who played Summer Bay fave Sally Fletcher for 20 years, from posting some fun flashback photos on Instagram to mark the occasion.

Kate also hit the town to celebrate with her former co-star Ray Meagher, who has played Alf Stewart since the very first episode, making him the longest-serving actor in an Australian TV series. Home and Away bosses have revealed Alf will be at the centre of a special storyline in 2018 as part of the anniversary storylines, which will also see a reboot of the popular River Boys surf gang. Although it remains to be seen if former cast members including Steve Peacocke (Brax) or Dan Ewing (Heath) will appear.
