James Buckley has hinted an Inbetweeners reunion might be on the cards, saying he misses working with the other boys.

The actor who played obnoxious teen Jay Cartwright in the Channel 4 comedy series told XFM he was missing co-stars Simon Bird, Joe Thomas and Blake Harrison.

James, 25, said: “There’s no other job like it, every other job’s quite serious. If we behaved like this on other jobs we’d get fired.

“They sort of let us muck about because then they capture the banter that you see on the screen.

“Whenever we have any contact, we just love to talk to each other because we’re not on set with each other every day any more.

“But I’m missing them, I’m missing those boys. I’ve said no in the past (to another show), but I do miss them.”

The Inbetweeners ran for three series and hit the big screen with The Inbetweeners Movie in 2011.

New dad James has recently been working on films, including rom-com The Necessary Death Of Charlie Countryman alongside Shia LaBeouf, Evan Rachel Wood and Rupert Grint which is due out later this year.

Shia made a big impression on him with James saying: “Shia is an incredible method actor – he was the character of this backpacker all the way through filming and it was really intense.

“When they say cut, I go back to my hotel and I’m a husband and a dad. But he’d just hang around Bucharest for about four weeks before anyone else even turned up, living like a backpacker.”
