Michelle Keegan could be following in the footsteps of her former Coronation Street star Natalie Gumede and heading for the Strictly Come Dancing ballroom, according to reports.
The Sun on Sunday claims that the actress is on the wishlist for the next series of the show, which will kick off on BBC One in the autumn.
And the paper reports that producers may even offer a place to her fiance, reality TV star Mark Wright, in a bid to lure her to the show.
“It is no secret that Michelle’s been invited for talks,” a source said. “She was asked last year but couldn’t do it because of Corrie.
“Now the BBC’s going for it. Signing her would be a coup.”
A spokesman for the 26-year-old confirmed she has been approached by producers but said she planned to focus on her acting instead.
Michelle will leave Coronation Street in the spring when her character Tina McIntyre is killed off – sparking a massive whodunnit plot.
