Speculation continues to grow over who will join the Strictly Come Dancing 2011 line-up – with footballer Robbie Savage the latest celebrity in the mix.

The News Of The World reports that the Welsh international – who picked up 89 yellow cards during his 20-year career – has signed up to take part.

And an insider said that the 36-year-old, who played for Leicester, Birmingham, Blackpool and Derby, is determined to be a success on the dancefloor.

“He wants to be the first footballer to win Strictly and nothing is going to stop him,” the source said.

Robbie now fronts BBC Radio Five Live’s show 606 and has over 300,000 followers on his Twitter page.

“Robbie is exactly what we want for Strictly – someone who will make waves,” a TV insider added.

“Every football fan in the country is going to want to see how ridiculous he looks wearing tight lycra and sequined outfits.”

Chris Tarrant and Fern Britton are other names who have been rumoured for the new series, which will begin later this year.
