Jeremy Clarkson makes grand entrance for new Who Wants To Be A Millionaire
ITV has released its first trailer for the new look Who Wants To Be A Millionaire and it sees new host Jeremy Clarkson whizz into his presenting chair in a flash car.
The seven new episodes, celebrating the 20th anniversary of the show, will be shown across one week in May, with members of the public once again getting the chance to win £1,000,000.
The trailer opens with the former Top Gear host looking like he’s doing a car review, declaring: “There really is nothing like it. It’s exciting, invigorating, with every second you get more and more engrossed, one wrong move and it’s all over, but with one final daredevil lunge it could change your life.”
But then he’s seen sweeping into the Who Wants To Be A Millionaire studio before taking up his hosting chair, as the announcer declares, “Same seat, different driver.”
Jeremy previously said about taking over presenting duties from Chris Tarrant: “I have always loved the show and am thrilled to be involved with its rebirth. I’m a big fan of quiz shows and I’m looking forward to hosting this iconic TV show and hopefully making a few millionaires!”
The lifelines – 50:50, ask the audience and ask a friend – will remain but ITV has suggested “there will be a number of new twists and turns for audiences to look forward to.”
