Actor James Corden has said that sitcom Gavin and Stacey will definitely return at some point, adding that it would be a “crime” not to make more episodes.

Corden, who recently made a splash on Broadway in the play One Man Two Guvnors, told the Daily Mail that he would lovde to revive the show in order to have the chance to work with co-writer Ruth Jones again.

“It’s a great show, writing with Ruth is a gift. I definitely plan on doing more,” he said.

Jones has previously said she would like to reunite the characters in some specials, as well as a possible musical episode of the show.

The final episode of Gavin and Stacey was screened in early 2010, and saw James’ character Smithy finally get together with Nessa, played by Ruth.

It also saw the title couple – played by Matthew Horne and Joanna Page – reveal that they were expecting a baby.

James also said he remained on good terms with Matthew, despite the pair parting ways after their BBC3 sketch show and movie Lesbian Vampire Killers which was a box office bomb.

“He’s still a really good mate,” revealed James who added that he was going to Matthew’s wedding later this year.

Matthew is currently appearing in the Sky One fantasy drama Sinbad.
