Congratulations to James Jordan!

Tonight’s final was always going to be a close one, with the talented James Jordan, Wes Nelson and Saara Aalto battling it out for the top spot.

But it was James, alongside professional partner Alexandra Schauman, who impressed the judges and won the prize.

James said: “I couldn’t have given any more, and the only reason I had to give so much was because of that little thing over there [pointing at Wes].”

Wes, alongside dancing partner Vanessa Bauer, was tipped to win the show after a strong performance throughout the series, regularly getting top scores from the judges.

In the first section of the final tonight, James, Saara and Wes had to complete a showcase dance choreographed by none other than dancing super stars Torvill and Dean.

They then had to perform their favourite dance from this year’s run on the show.

Saara was named in third place earlier on in the finale, with Wes in a close second.

Strictly's James Jordan: No-one likes Denise and I

It’s no surprise that James was crowned the winner, as prior to the show he named favourite to win. BetVictor were offering odds of 4/11 on the ex-Strictly pro.

Prior to the win, James’s wife, Ola Jordan, showed her support for her husband. She wrote on twitter, ‘Hi guys, Its almost show time. Can I just say Good Luck to my gorgeous hubby @The_JamesJordan and the lovely @AlexandraLukasz on @dancingonice @ITV. ‘They are obviously winners in my eyes. Please give them your vote if you can.’

Dancing On Ice will return to screens with a new line-up of contestants next year.
