Jamie Oliver: My new show will ‘smash’ recession

Jamie Oliver says his new C4 show will ‘smash the recession’ by showing families how they can save a fortune in their cooking.

The 38-year-old chef tells TV Times magazine that Jamie’s Money-Saving Meals will highlight how clever shopping, tricks from the restaurant trade and easy recipes can help slash food expenditure.

“Did you know that the average British family reportedly throws out food worth £680 each year?” asks Jamie. “That’s just bonkers! As everyone comes under bigger financial pressure, they want help to cook on a budget. So let’s get kitchen-smart and smash the recession.”

C4’s Jamie’s Money-Saving Meals starts next Monday – read the full Jamie interview in the new issue of TV Times out today.
