Jedward tipped for BBC after ITV show is dropped

Twins John and Edward Grimes – aka Jedward – have had their reality show dropped by ITV2, according to the papers – but could be about to join the BBC.

The Sun claims that the wacky pair – who sprang to fame on the 2009 series of X Factor – will not be doing a second series of their show Jedward: Let Loose.

However reports suggest they are in talks with the BBC to front a new Saturday morning show for the corporation’s children’s channel CBBC.

“Yes, it’s curtains for the ITV2 show,” a source told the paper. “They did one series and everybody hoped they’d do another but it’s not happening.

“I think ITV2 have had enough of them. But their loss could well be the BBC’s gain. There’s a lot of interest in them doing a Saturday morning show on CBBC as obviously with their daft nature they appeal to kids.”

The pair have made a fortune since they appeared on The X Factor, thanks to sales of their autobiography and a recent six-figure deal they signed with Nintendo.

They also reached number two in the charts earlier this year with their debut single Under Pressure, a duet with 90s rapper Vanilla Ice.
