Jennifer Aniston is ready to marry again – the actress is engaged to screenwriter and actor Justin Theroux.

Jennifer’s spokesman Stephen Huvane confirmed the engagement after it was first reported by

Justin, 41 – whose screenwriting credits include Tropic Thunder, Iron Man 2 and Rock Of Ages – popped the question on Friday, which was also his birthday.

The two appeared together in the comedy Wanderlust, also starring Paul Rudd, earlier this year.

This will be the 43-year-old Friends star’s second marriage and Justin’s first.

Her union with Brad Pitt from 2000 to 2005 – and their subsequent divorce – became rich material for the tabloids.

After her marriage ended, she was in high-profile relationships with actor Vince Vaughn and musician John Mayer. Jennifer’s engagement comes four months after Pitt and Angelina Jolie announced their engagement.

Justin’s spokesman said: “Justin Theroux had an amazing birthday on Friday, receiving an extraordinary gift when his girlfriend, Jennifer Aniston, accepted his proposal of marriage.”

Justin, who is a cousin of English documentary maker Louis Theroux, and Jennifer have known each other for years, but started dating more than a year ago after working on Wanderlust.

The two moved in together and tabloids soon began predicting everything from marriage to babies for the new couple. It is not clear if a wedding date for the couple had been set.
