Jessie paid tribute to the father of two on her Twitter page, saying “All I can say is my thoughts, love and respect are with the family and children of the man who attended the Blackberry gig last week who sadly lost his life this morning…so sad.”

Mr Sherriff, who was a telecommunications professional from Preston, had been rushed to the Royal London Hospital in the early hours of Wednesday morning, where medics had operated on his skull to remove pressure from a brain injury.

However he remained in a critical condition prior to his death.

The victim had joined a string of celebrities, including cast members of Made In Chelsea and The Only Way Is Essex, at the bash at Pulse nightclub in South London.

A 25-year-old man, Ashley Charles, appeared in court over the weekend to answer charges of attempted murder in relation to the attack. However police have now said they are investigating the case as murder.
