Jessie J has promised that she’ll be a “hard-core” coach on The X Factor.
The Price Tag singer, who is mentoring alongside judge Tulisa Contostavlos in the judges’ houses round, insisted she won’t be won over easily.
“I go in hard-core. I’m not someone that’s like, ‘You’re great!’ I won’t kiss people’s a***s. Technique, mike control, breathing, passion, determination, hard work, work ethic, voice, tone, star quality, all of it.
“I’m about the singing, the voice, the talent so that’s what I’ll be looking for,” she said.
Jessie – who performed at the launch party for the latest BlackBerry 7 smartphones and BBM music sharing service – is thrilled she was asked to join the show.
“I am excited about it. I think it’s a really good standard this year and it’s going to be fun,” she continued.
The Brit-winning pop star has no plans to be a judge, saying: “I don’t like the idea of being a judge, but I like the idea of being a coach.
“I am 23 and I don’t feel like I’ve had a long enough career yet to really feel like I have a right to tell people my opinion. Maybe in the future.”
And Jessie admitted one of her musical guilty pleasures – X Factor twins Jedward.
“I do love a bit of Jedward. I can’t lie. I think it’s the hair!” she said.
