JLS stars Aston Merrygold and Marvin Humes have revealed they are on a self-imposed booze ban ahead of Soccer Aid 2012.
The singers recently returned from a stag party in Las Vegas ahead of Marvin’s marriage to The Saturdays’ Rochelle Wiseman this summer where they partied hard. They are now dedicated to getting in shape for the charity match on Sunday at Old Trafford in Manchester, which will be broadcast live on ITV1.
Marvin said: “We are very fit. Me and Aston are alcohol-banned, we’re not drinking at all.
“It’s pretty tough – the rest of the lads are drinking in the hotel, but we said no alcohol. We did enough in Vegas and Miami.
“We’re here, fully focused on Sunday and making sure we win and bring the trophy home.”
The JLS lads will join stars including Olly Murs and John Bishop on the England team, captained by Robbie Williams, taking on The Rest of The World team, which includes Will Ferrell and James McAvoy.
All the England team agree the speedy young JLS stars are their secret weapon to help them win victory this year.
Robbie chanted: “Aston and Marvin! Aston and Marvin! Aston and Marvin. JLS. Use that on the terraces!”
Tickets are now on sale for Soccer Aid 2012 on 0161 444 2012 and itv.com/socceraid.
