Kara Tointon has insisted she won’t be jealous watching boyfriend Artem Chigvintsev getting up close and personal with his new partner on Strictly Come Dancing.
The ex-EastEnders star found love with Artem during the last series of the BBC One show, and took the crown after some steamy performances on the dancefloor.
Artem has been paired with former Aussie soap stunner Holly Valance for this year’s series.
Before the partnership was announced, Kara admitted the thought of his dancing with someone else would be ‘strange’, but said she wouldn’t have a problem with it.
“It’s going to be strange seeing him with someone else and I’m going to be envious about it because I know they’re going to have the best time of their lives for however long they’re in the contest, but at the same time that’s his job and I want him to do his best, that’s what he does.
“You just have to be happy in your relationship and comfortable in it. I’m hoping I’m going to be really cool and I’m not going to be some nutter every week going, ‘Oh, I don’t like that move’!”
Despite loving her time on the show, Kara – who is raising money for Action Dyslexia using the new Vodafone JustTextGiving service – doesn’t think she’d follow in former winner Alesha Dixon’s footsteps and take a place on the judging panel.
“I think Alesha’s just so suited to that role, she’s really good at it and I don’t know if I could slip into those shoes, I don’t think I could do that job,” she added.
Kara will take part in a 33km endurance horse race for Action Dyslexia on September 18. Supporters can text KARA81 along with a donation amount to 70070 to give sponsorship.
