Kate Moss snapped up for TV talent search

Supermodel Kate Moss has been signed up by Simon Cowell to be a judge on a new battle of the bands style TV show, according to the papers.

The Sunday Mirror reports that Moss will join a panel of experts on the show, which will look for a new supergroup to rival the likes of Oasis and Coldplay.

It is the first small screen collaboration between Cowell and Top Shop billionaire Sir Philip Green, and is described as a cross between Britain’s Got Talent and The X Factor, aiming to give unsigned bands the chance of a record deal.

The show is likely to launch in the US first with a UK equivalent to follow later.

“Kate is absolutely cock-a-hoop about her move into TV,” a source close to the model told the paper.

“She’s been looking for a big global project to get her teeth into for some time and the waiting has paid off.”

“This show is going to blow every other reality series out of the water,”

the insider added. “Kate is thrilled to be part of it from the start.

“She’s a huge music fan and everyone knows her knack of picking out new trendy bands. It’s one of the few areas outside fashion she feels totally confident to speak her mind.”

Kate – who has dated a string of rock stars including Pete Doherty and her current partner Jamie Hince of indie band The Kills, is said to be a huge fan of The X Factor. She has reportedly attended several of the live shows with her daughter Lila Grace.

She first met Simon Cowell late last year after Sir Philip – a close friend of the model – introduced them.
