Katherine Jenkins says her strenuous Dancing With The Stars regime makes it impossible for her to gain weight.

The Welsh singer is wowing the US with her dance skills on their version of Strictly Come Dancing, but told The Sun she’s not enjoying the thin frame it’s giving her.

“I prefer being curvy and so feel like I am a little on the thin side at the moment,” she said.

“But on one day I eat pizza, chocolate cake, ice cream, two enormous salads along with a side of chips and it is not making any difference because of the training,” she continued.

But Katherine added that the show was helping her get over her split from fiance Gethin Jones.

She said: “This show has definitely given me a reason to laugh and just have fun doing something new… I felt I needed something like that.”

Meanwhile, the 31-year-old singer’s performance on the show reached its peak this week after she earned a perfect score of 60 from the judges for her two dances in the final of the competition.

Fellow finalists actor William Levy and football player Donald Driver finished one point behind Katherine with 59 points each.

Judges’ scores are combined with viewer votes to determine which contestant will claim the title and the mirrorball trophy in the season finale, when each finalist will perform one last routine.

Katherine has consistently wowed the judges with her professional partner Mark Ballas, even scoring 27 out of 30 for one dance performance last week when she stumbled and burst into tears at the end.
