Katie Price went ‘through hell’ during baby emergency

Katie Price has said she has been through ‘hell’ after spending 13 days in a foreign hospital while doctors try to save her baby.

The 35-year-old model and businesswoman – who is 32 weeks pregnant – was rushed to hospital after her waters broke almost eight weeks prematurely while she was on a family holiday in Europe.

Katie told The Sun: “I think my baby’s going to be OK.

“I just want my baby out so I can meet it and hold it in my arms. I will feel much safer knowing it is out and in an incubator.

“Doctors want to keep the baby inside me for as long as possible, but they’ve told me they want me to have a Caesarean.”

The reality TV star was on holiday with new husband Kieran Hayler, her childen Junior, seven, and Princess, five, from her marriage to Peter Andre and 10-year-old son Harvey from her relationship with footballer Dwight Yorke.

She revealed when her waters broke she didn’t know what was happening as she had not experienced it with her three previous children.

Katie told how she dashed to a local hospital where nobody spoke English. An air ambulance was arranged to fly the model home, but she refused to go as medics told her it was only ’80 per cent safe’ to fly in her current condition.

She said: “I feel like I’ve been through hell over the past 13 days, but I just thank God I went straight to hospital and got things under control. My baby was in danger, but between the medical staff here and my doctor in London I am in good hands and I have to believe that all will be well.”

Katie revealed her condition was brought on by stress and exhaustion after a mix-up with her children’s passports meant she was travelling for 27 hours. She and Peter Andre agreed to have their children for four weeks each over the summer, but Junior and Princess have now flown to Australia to be with dad Peter.
