Why is Mitch back in the Square?
EastEnders star Roger Griffiths says he “feels great” about returning to Albert Square later this year as Keegan’s estranged dad Mitch Baker.
Karen Taylor’s lying ex was first seen in Walford back in March when he received an extremely hostile welcome from the Taylor clan.
But Mitch managed to worm his way back into Karen’s heart and struck up a friendship with Keegan. However, it was soon clear that the rotter hadn’t turned over a new leaf as he took off with a huge wad of cash meant for Mr Murray.
The deceitful charmer once again tried to make amends with Karen and Keegan, but Karen didn’t fall for his lies again, and after discovering he had a wife, told him to stay out of her family’s life.
Now, he’s heading back to Walford and Roger is thrilled to be playing Mitch again, saying: “It feels great to be returning to Albert Square and working with the wonderful cast and crew again, especially the fantastic Taylor family. I’m excited for the viewers to learn more about Mitch and see what trouble he gets himself into this time.”
When Mitch returns, it’s soon clear he’s once again on a mission to win the Taylors round, but surely they won’t fall for his act again?
And, what is Mitch really after as we head into the festive season? Surely there must be a mean motive for his Walford comeback?
Roger’s long acting CV includes roles in Casualty, Death in Paradise, Doctors and The Bill.
EastEnders continues on BBC1 tonight on BBC1 at 8pm.
