Ex Emmerdale star Claire King has offered some words of advice to Brendan Cole’s partner Kelly Brook as they prepare for the new series of Strictly Come Dancing.

Claire, most famous for playing superbitch Kim Tate in ITV1’s popular rural soap, was Brendan’s partner for last year’s series of the hit BBC1 dance contest and has jokingly urged Kelly to tell the womaniser to: “Keep his hands to himself!”

But Claire did have some kind words for the professional dancer – despite reports claiming that she and Brendan didn’t get along.

She said: “He’s an incredible dancer but he’s not the best teacher because he’s got very little patience.

“We were like a married couple; we laughed but we also fought.”

Claire, who was eliminated from last year’s competition in the eighth week, said: “I thought I’d go out in week three or four. It was mentally and physically quite demanding.”

Claire was in London to promote the upcoming release of a special Emmerdale 35th Anniversary edition DVD.
