Troubled reality TV star Kerry Katona has been cautioned by police for possession of cocaine.

The 28-year-old was questioned by officers at Wilmslow Police Station in Cheshire on Monday, following the footage which appeared in last weekend’s tabloids of her apparently snorting the drug in her bathroom.

A spokeswoman for Cheshire Police said, “Following a police investigation, today at Wilmslow police station a 28-year old woman has been cautioned by police for possession of a controlled drug.”

On Sunday Katona – a former winner of I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! told the Sunday Mirror she was “ashamed” of her actions.

“I know I let everyone down – my fans, my family and people I work with,” she said.

“It was a moment of weakness and stupidity and I regret it terribly.”

The publication of the footage led to Katona being sacked as the face of supermarket chain Iceland, despite having already filmed Christmas commercials for them.

She admitted that losing the contract came as a blow to her, after she declared bankruptcy last year and was left with huge debts.

Meanwhile, Katona also faced questioning from cops over the weekend – this time about helping them to solve a crime, after an 83-year-old pensioner was mugged outside her home.

Katona and husband Mark Croft let police in to view footage on their CCTV system which had captured footage of the attack.

“Kerry was very helpful, as was her husband Mark,” a source close to her told The Sun.

“They showed the officers around their home and let them take footage away.

“Kerry couldn’t do enough for the police. It was a bit of a dress rehearsal for what was going to happen next.
