The former husband of troubled reality TV star Kerry Katona has said he will “fight” to get custody of their two daughters.

Pop star Brian McFadden told a TV show in Dublin of his fears for Molly, eight, and six-year-old Lilly-Sue, following Katona’s recent drug scandal and her subsequent arrest over an alleged assault.

“I’ll fight to get custody of my kids and bring them to Ireland,” the former Westlife member said on Ireland’s Late Late Show .

It was the first time that McFadden had spoken about Katona’s recent troubles, which included photos of her in the tabloids apparently snorting cocaine in her bathroom. She was later cautioned by police over this.

“I see the kids in the house with Kerry doing cocaine,” he added. “It’s manic.”

He also spoke of his shock over Katona’s arrest recently over allegations that she assaulted her accountant David McHugh.

The Sun reports that the former Atomic Kitten singer is terrified that McFadden will seek custody of their children.

McFadden currently lives in Australia with his fiancee, singer Delta Goodrem, but told the Late Late Show he would “come back to Ireland” if he won full custody of his daughters.

“Brian knows it will destroy Kerry if she loses her children,” a source told the paper, “but feels she has left him no choice.”
