Killing Eve season 2: FIRST LOOK pics tease Villanelle’s blood-thirsty revenge

We can barely look!

Following the blood-thirsty conclusion to an explosive first series, Killing Eve is back for a second time.

The series, co-written and executive produced by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, documents a ferocious cat-and-mouse chase as Eve attempts to hunt down killer Villanelle.

And, as the end of the gripping BBC crime-drama reached it’s gory climax last season, with Eve stabbing Villanelle following their tense chase, the first look at the upcoming follow-up series promises further carnage…

In the early sneak-peak at the second series, viewers can begin to piece together what happened to Villanelle after escaping Eve.

In one snap, Villanelle, played by Jodie Comer, hides her injuries in an oversized khaki coat whilst attempting to flag down a taxi in a busy city street.

Appearing to have managed to escape her scrape with death with just a few bruises, we’re left wondering if Villanelle could be on her way to seek vengeance.

Confirming that actress Sandra Oh will also be heavily present for the second series, Eve is seen looking visibly distressed whilst cradling her knees in a bathtub.

Another returning face, actress Fiona Shaw, who plays boss Carolyn Martens, will also return as head of the Russia Section at MI5.

Luckily, curious viewers won’t have too long to wait until the second Killing Eve installment returns back to our screens – as it was confirmed earlier this month that filming had already finished for series two.

The show, which airs in both the U.K and the America, will hit screens in the U.S in April of 2019 – and will shortly be followed by a British air date.

Killing Eve final episode

Confirming the return of the tense show, the BBC’s Content Director announces: “I’m pleased to say that we’re not going to have to wait quite so long next time… It’s back on the BBC next year for season two.”

Following a hugely successful first series, Killing Eve is now in the running for a Golden Globe for best drama television series, and earlier this year was nominated for two Primetime Emmy Awards.
