Dame Harriet Walter and Danny Sapani will both appear in Killing Eve series three, it’s been announced.
However, it’s not yet been revealed who Walter, whose CV includes The Crown and Downton Abbey, and Sapani (Harlots, The Crown), will play.
It was, though, confirmed that filming has started on series three, which will see Jodie Comer back as assassin Vilanelle and Sandra Oh as spy Eve.
The second series ended on a deadly cliffhanger as Eve lay apparently dead after being shot in Rome by Vilanelle, who felt rejected by Eve.
It was almost an exact mirror of the final moments of the first series, which saw Vilanelle lying in a pool of blood apparently on the way out after being stabbed by Eve.
It’s hard to imagine Eve not recovering from her injuries – where would Killing Eve be without Eve?!
Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Fleabag) adapted the first series, with Call the Midwife actress Emerald Fennell becoming the lead writer for the second run.
Killing Eve series three sees British writer Suzanne Heathcote (Fear the Walking Dead) taking over lead writing duties. Phoebe Waller-Bridge remains as an executive producer.
Waller-Bridge said to Radio Times: “I’m very excited that the Killing Eve baton is being passed onto another incredible writer for season three. We can sleep soundly knowing these characters are safe in Suzanne Heathcote’s hilariously murderous hands”.
Series one and two are available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
It’s not yet been revealed when Killing Eve series three will air. It will be shown again on the BBC.
