Kim Cattrall has doubts about reprising her role as feisty Samantha Jones for a third Sex And The City film.
With talk fast circulating about a third outing featuring the foursome – Samantha, Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker), Charlotte (Kristin Davis) and Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) – the English-born actress has admitted to having some hesitations about a follow-up.
“I have to say, I really don’t think so, maybe in a prequel. But I don’t know. I think that everybody who could make this happen in the sense of the script and directing has gone on to other things, and I really wish them all the best,” she told Entertainment Weekly.
Kim, who stars in the indie film Meet Monica Velour, doesn’t mind if Sex And The City never gets another big-screen outing.
“I had a fantastic time. To play this character and be a part of this series that is so beloved is such a gift and I so appreciate it,” she added.
While Kim is unsure about a third Sex And The City film, her co-stars Sarah Jessica and Kristin disagree.
“I would go back – I think there’s one more story to tell, I know there is. I’d definitely tell that [third] story, and I know Michael (Patrick King, creator) would do it right. But maybe not now,” Sarah Jessica told Los Angeles Times’ 24 Frames.
And Kristin told Access Hollywood: “Of course I’m game!”
