Girls Aloud singer Kimberley Walsh has denied rumours that she will be taking part in this year’s Strictly Come Dancing.

Kimberley – who sprang to fame on the 2002 series Popstars The Rivals– said that the show would not be the “right thing” for her to do at the present time.

“I won’t be on Strictly Come Dancing this year,” she revealed. “Maybe I would at some point, but at the moment I’m not quite ready to put myself back into the glare of reality television.”

“Obviously I’ve been there before and it’s quite a hard thing to do and I admire them.”

However Kimberley – who is currently presenting TV show Suck My Pop on music channel Viva – admitted she fancies expanding into acting.

“I have trained in it and done a bit over the years and it’d be nice to revisit it if it was the right thing to do and see if I could still do it and it was still a challenge,” she said.

“I think I would enjoy that. It would be nice to play someone completely different to myself.”
