Len Goodman will take celebrities on a trip down memory lane in his new BBC show, Holiday Of My Lifetime
The Strictly Come Dancing judge will lead a star-studded line-up of celebrity guests down memory lane to relive their favourite childhood summer holiday for the BBC One programme.
Celebrities including Eamonn Holmes, Matt Allwright, Esther Rantzen, Ainsley Harriot, Dave Myers and Anita Manning will reveal why the sights, sounds and smells of destinations such as Cornwall, the Isle of Wight, Blackpool, Devon and Scotland bring back fond memories for them.
“It’s been a real joy exploring the wonderful UK with personalities from across TV, radio and sport, reliving some of their humorous and heart-warming memories,” Len said.
“This series will showcase the fun of a traditional summer holiday, harkening back to times when the simple things – like the smell of fish and chips or a bucket and spade – made all the difference to a child. What makes this experience even more special is that we get to share it with our viewers,” he added.
Len will also explore each destination’s history and see how each place has changed over the years, with footage from the archive alongside discussions with local historians.
Jo Street, BBC’s commissioning editor daytime, said: “Being invited on holiday with Len Goodman as our guide was irresistible. We hope the combination of travel and nostalgia in the company of some famous faces will be a real treat for our audience.”
