Les Dennis has revealed he would love to do more reality TV, especially Strictly Come Dancing.

The TV star – who famously appeared to undergo a mental breakdown while appearing in Celebrity Big Brother in 2002 – said he would love to learn how to dance for the BBC One show.

Les said: “I don’t think I’d do I’m a Celebrity but I would never say never because things like Hell’s Kitchen I think are great because you learn to do something. We just sat on the sofa in Big Brother. Certainly when it comes to Strictly, why not?

“I did get asked to do the Dancing On Ice this year but I just thought that is very much a young man’s game, as you’ve got to do a lot of lifting in that.”

The actor – about to star as Buttons in a pantomime of Cinderella at the Liverpool Empire – was devastated John Sergeant had quit Strictly.

He said: “It is so sad because it seems that, from what I hear, he has been put under pressure to resign.

“I think that’s unfair because he has been hugely entertaining and the public have voted to keep him in.”

Les is also a fan of ITV’s The X Factor.

He said: “I liked that guy that looked like Ricky Gervais, Daniel, cos I kept thinking it was Ricky.

“I was really sad he went out but I think X Factor is much more about finding a pop star, so I understand there why they go for the absolute best. But when it comes to Strictly Come Dancing, it’s a different kind of show.”
