Hollywood actress, Lindsay Lohan, joins Harry Potter star Rupert Grint and Nick Frost for a brand new comedy
Hollywood star Lindsay Lohan is to join the cast of Rupert Grint’s British TV comedy, Sick Note.
Lindsay will join Rupert, who shot to fame as Harry Potter’s Ron Weasley, and Nick Frost (Shaun of the Dead) for the second season of the show which stars Rupert as a compulsive liar, Daniel Glass, who is misdiagnosed with a terminal illness by his doctor played by Nick Frost. Meanwhile Daniel’s overbearing boss, Kenny West, is played by Miami Vice star Don Johnson.
The first season is yet to air but Sky Atlantic announced they were commissioning a second season earlier this year.
According to Lohan’s representatives, the 30-year-old actress has been showing up at 6am each day for filming and is going to be “absolutely hilarious” in the role.
The actress shared the news on twitter saying, “Jokes with Rupert Grint and @nickjfroston set of my new show Sick Note @sky1 & @NOWTV”.
The Mean Girls star has stepped back from screen acting in recent years, taking a break from Hollywood and basing herself in Europe while appearing in the West End stage in Speed-the-Plow.
Her last significant screen acting role was in 2013 thriller The Canyons
Speaking about the new comedy, Sky’s head of comedy Jon Mountague said: “One lie leads to the next in this unsettlingly brilliant comedy that will hook viewers in and have them on the very edge of their seats.”
Other shows in Sky 1’s 10pm slot include ‘Bliss’, a comedy starring Stephen Mangan and Heather Graham and ‘Bounty Hunters’ which will star Jack Whitehall.
Sick Note will air on Sky 1 and Now TV this autumn
