The Olympic athlete has reportedly been paid £80,000 to appear in this year’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

According to The Sun, a show insider said: “Linford is very excited about the jungle. As an athlete, he is ultra competitive and is dying to win as many tasks as he can.”

The 50-year-old former sprinter is also said to have already started training to prepare for life in the Australian outback as well as gearing himself up for the more culinary Bushtucker trials, which usually see celebs tucking into a variety of disgusting food items.

The source added: “As a sportsman Linford is used to bland food like skinless chiken and boiled rice. So he’s been experimenting with a few more flavours to get him in the mood.

“Obviously he won’t be trying testicles or things like that, so he’ll still be in for a big shock.”

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! starts on ITV in early November.
