TGIF! Tomorrow's commute to school or work will be a lot more fun with ex-Neighbours star Kylie Minogue making some important train announcements!
Listen out for pop star Kylie Minogue if you’re travelling by train tomorrow (Fri), as the ex-Neighbours star will be making some special announcements as part of BBC Music Day.
While Kylie won’t be announcing platform alterations or dreaded delays, she will be brightening your day with messages about BBC Music Day and referencing her classic hit, The Loco-Motion:
“I know what you’re thinking, ‘Why is Kylie doing the announcements?’ It’s because it’s BBC Music Day…so I can! Have a great weekend, everyone! Happy BBC Music Day!”
“Happy BBC Music Day! For your safety and comfort, everybody’s doing a brand new dance now. Come on commuters, do the locomotion!”
“This is a special announcement: Please let passengers sing and dance their way off the train first before trying to get on board! Happy BBC Music Day everyone!”
Listen out for Kylie at Network Rail stations throughout Friday in Birmingham, Bristol, Euston, Glasgow Central, Kings Cross, Leeds, Liverpool Street, London Bridge, London Victoria, London Waterloo, Manchester and Reading.
It’s not the first time Kylie has made an “appearance” on public transport. A Kylie-themed poem was recently displayed on the London Underground.
As well as Kylie, pop singers Lisa Stansfield, Gabrielle, Amy Macdonald and indie band Blossoms are among those also taking part in this year’s BBC Music Day, which celebrates the power of music to change lives.
There’ll be live music performances across the country, including 40 choirs who will sing to travellers at railway stations across the UK.
But if you’re not travelling, don’t worry, as BBC Music Day will also be celebrated on the telly too. Look out for Gareth Malone’s All Star Music Quiz (Tonight at 7:00pm on BBC 2), a Pulp versus Happy Mondays edition of Bargain Hunt (Friday 28th September at 12:15pm on BBC One and a Pointless Celebrities BBC Music Day Special (Saturday 29th September at 5:40pm on BBC One).
