Lost star Naveen Andrews has been cast in Sky1’s new epic drama Sinbad.

Newcomer Elliot Knight will play the title role as the drama based on the iconic mythological character is given a modern twist.

Naveen, who played Sayid Jarrah in Lost, stars as Sinbad’s nemesis, Lord Akbari, who will stop at nothing to destroy the young hero.

The drama also stars Hotel Rwanda’s Sophie Okonedo as Razia, Queen of the Water-Thieves, and Harry Potter’s Timothy Spall as Anicetus, The Old Man of the Sea.

On the run from home, streetwise Sinbad finds himself cast out to sea with an mysterious band of travellers.

Sinbad and his shipmates are forced to come together to face their inner demons, hopes and fears. And when mystical meets muscle anything can happen.
