Louis Walsh has been offered a new deal to appear on the next series of The X Factor – just weeks after he threatened to quit the show.

According to The Sun the Irishman – who mentored the over 25s on this series – is the only judge to have been verbally told he is guaranteed a place on the panel in 2012.

His fellow panellists – Kelly Rowland, Tulisa Contostavlos and Gary Barlow – have reportedly been told that they will have to wait until next year to find out if they will return.

News of Louis’ offer comes in the wake of an interview he did with former judge Dannii Minogue, in which he branded the other judges “crazy” and said he wanted to leave.

However reports suggest that Simon Cowell is so keen for Louis to stay that show chiefs have been ordered to offer him a lucrative contract.

“Louis is the only judge who has been verbally offered a deal,” a source told the Mirror.

“Despite all the reports that he has been sacked, he is 100 per cent nailed on to be back – if he wants the job.”

The 59-year-old is the only judge on the current series with no acts left in the competition, following Kitty Brucknell’s departure two weeks ago.
