Louis Walsh has apparently demanded £1.3 million to appear on the next series of The X Factor.
According to The Sun, the music manager and ITV1 show’s judge is in London to negotiate his contract and wants to earn almost what Sharon Osbourne was on before she quit last year.
A show insider said: “It may sound like a lot of money but that’s how Louis sees his market value.
“He is a key reason why The X Factor has become one of Britain’s most popular TV shows and he has had a lot of success in the ‘real world’ managing the likes of Boyzone and Westlife.
“Simon knows the viewers love Louis and he’s going to have to dig deep to get him to sign up again.”
Meanwhile, former Destiny’s Child singer Kelly Rowland is the latest name in the frame to replace Dannii Minogue if she is axed from the show.
The source added: “Simon wants his winners to break the States like Leona Lewis did, so having an American judge would help that.”
