The Love Island plane has taken off!
As the countdown continues to the start of Love Island 2018, host Caroline Flack has declared that “conditions are ideal for grafting” in a new trailer for the ITV2 hit.
Dressed as an airline pilot, Caroline introduces a special safety video for the non-stop flight to Love Island, and makes a reference to the word “grafting,” which Love Island fans know means working hard to land your date.
The show’s narrator, Iain Stirling, then goes through the rest of the safety video, packing it with Love Island lingo, including “Muggy”, which means to take someone for an idiot/mug. “Due to muggy conditions, turbulence is to be expected…” Predictably in the cartoon trailer the contestants aren’t sporting many clothes!
There’s a nice gag where it warns that “inflated egos may cause suffocation” when couples don their safety vests in the event of a crash, while poor singletons are seen leaving the plane through an exit marked “Dumped”. Harsh!
There’s also a reference to Love Island’s Chris Hughes and Kem Cetinay’s debut single Little Bit Leave It, when the passengers are told: “Please little bit leave everything else” when they depart of the plane.
Fans are now just desperate to know when the new series will actually start.
At a guess you’d have to go with early June, which is when last year’s series started. It’s now the fourth season of Love Island, which has become a huge hit for ITV.
Caroline had previously tweeted, “So I had a sneak peek at this years LOVE ISLANDERS today… and… it’s gonna be a LONG HOT SUMMER…”.
