Marvin and Rochelle Humes have confirmed they will be hosting This Morning in a one-off episode and are in talks for their own TV show.

This Morning’s Brian Dowling announced the news about the new parents and stars of JLS and The Saturdays in the programme.

Regular presenter Eamonn Holmes joked: “Well I think that is a very bad idea – I think Rochelle should sit with me and Marvin should sit with Ruth… I think I should nurse maid Rochelle into this job!”

His wife and presenting partner Ruth Langsford agreed: “And I could nurture Marvin and hold his hand! We saw them last week actually and it’s going to be great, they are a really lovely couple.”

The couple are the latest in a string of guest celebrity hosts – Emma Bunton and Jamie Theakston have fronted the show on a number of Fridays over the summer and Jeff Brazier and Jenni Falconer will take on presenting duties in August before the Humes’ show on August 23.

Marvin said: “We are so excited be a part of the This Morning team! We have grown up watching the show over the years.”

Rochelle added: “It’s a dream come true that we’re now going to be hosting This Morning, we can’t wait for our first show.”

Brian also said in his TV Tip-Off section of the show that they were in talks to do their own TV show.

The couple welcomed their first child in June, a daughter called Alaia-Mai.
