The popular postie’s relatives are set to arrive in Albert Square…

Fans of EastEnders are already looking forward to Masood Ahmed’s return to Walford later this year and it looks like he won’t be alone when his feisty uncle and aunt decide to move in to number 41!

Masood (Nitin Ganatra) was last seen heading off to Pakistan with his son Kamil in November last year to reunite with his fiery ex-wife Zainab, who left Walford in 2013.

However, though the details of his return are still under wraps, it’s clear things haven’t turned out too well for Masood when he finds himself back at home and having to help his elderly relatives settle into the Square.

Masood’s Auntie Mariam and Uncle Arshad are foster parents in need of a bigger home and end up taking their nephew up on his offer of renting number 41. But the move isn’t all its cracked up to be and the Ahmeds soon find themselves caught up in some proper Walford dramas!

Mariam is set to be played by Indira Joshi, best known for playing mum Madhuri Kumar in the Kumar’s at No.42, while Madhav, who has starred in Casualty, Doctor Who and Coronation Street, will take on the role of Arshad.

But with their nephew’s long history of dramas, including his turbulent relationship with Zainab and romances with Jane, Carmel and Carol Jackson, it’s clear the Ahmeds are going to get a lot more than they bargained for when they move to Albert Square!
