Matt Willis will be joining Linda Robson, Pauline Quirke and Lesley Joseph in the all-new series of classic comedy Birds of a Feather, coming soon to ITV.
Matt, who was a founder member of pop group Busted, will play Garthy, the cocky eldest son of Tracey Stubbs, played by Linda.
“I’m so excited to be joining Birds of a Feather playing the role of Garthy!” said Matt, who won I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! in 2006 and is the husband of Big Brother host Emma Willis. “I used to watch the show growing up so this is just a dream job. I can’t believe I’ll be working with Sharon, Tracey and Dorian.”
Meanwhille, Pauline Quirke’s real-life son Charlie Quirke will play Tracey Stubbs’ younger son Travis. Charlie recently portrayed Travis in the successful Birds of a Feather stage production that toured the UK earlier this year. His mum plays Travis’s aunt Sharon.
“For me it’s great to get this opportunity after playing Travis on the stage tour for the last two years, and it’s great working with the two girls again and Mum!” said Charlie.
Birds Of A Feather has reunited original writers Laurence Marks and Maurice Gran, alongside Gary Lawson and John Phelps, to write the new series. The sitcom is currently filming and ITV viewers will get the chance to find out what Sharon, Tracey and Dorian are now up to next spring.
