Michael Jackson is apparently being lined up to appear on The X Factor.

The ITV1 reality show’s boss Simon Cowell is making it a priority to get the King of Pop on one of the live shows, reports the Daily Mirror.

In the last series of the popular show, stars including Britney Spears, Mariah Carey and Beyonce all made appearances and Simon is keen to add Jacko to that list.

A source said: “Britney was a massive coup for Cowell. But he’s determined to raise the bar even higher and secure Jacko’s services. He is perhaps one of the few artists who could outshine Britney.”

The insider added: “The only sticking point is that while Britney had her new album to promote, Jacko’s shows have sold out in minutes and don’t necessarily need the publicity.

“But Cowell won’t let that stop him. He is determined to get his man.”

Jackson’s recently announced comeback shows at London’s O2 Arena have been met with huge demand.

The original 10 dates ran between July 8 and July 28, 2009, but organisers added another 34 shows to run until February 2010.

Half the seats – priced between £50 and £75 – had already been sold online to people who had obtained a presale code.

And devoted fans queued through the night outside the O2 box office in North Greenwich to snap up the remaining tickets on Friday morning.

Ava Zadkhorvash and Ayesha Obi were first in the queue and secured tickets shortly after they went on sale at 7am.

Jacko, who has returned to the US for rehearsals, is said to be ‘ecstatic’ about the way the shows are being received.
