More celebrity names are being tipped to join the line-up of the new series of Strictly Come Dancing, according to the papers.

The Sun reports that former S Club 7 singer Rachel Stevens has signed on for the latest series, following rumours earlier in the week that she would be taking to the dancefloor.

Also in the frame are swimmer Mark Foster, One Show host Christine Bleakley and TV presenter Lisa Snowdon, as well as the BBC’s former political correspondent John Sergeant.

And model Jodie Kidd, actress Cherie Lunghi, chef Gary Rhodes, rugby star Austin Healey, and M People singer Heather Small are also reported to be in the line-up, as are veteran actor Don Warrington and Holby City star Tim Chambers.

Meanwhile, the paper says that GMTV host Andrew Castle will be stepping into his dancing shoes for the series – following co-host Kate Garraway who appeared on the 2007 season.

Earlier in the week it was reported that a trio of former EastEnders stars – Phil Daniels, Jessie Wallace and Gillian Taylforth – had signed up for the show.

“We are going for gold this series, just like our Olympians,” a show insider told the paper. “It’s going to be a great year.”

The new series begins on BBC1 on September 13.
