Natasha Kaplinsky is preparing to have her salary cut so she can spend more time with her baby.
The Sun reported that the 36-year-old Five News reader’s wages could be cut by £300,000, after quitting an evening news bulletin for good.
She returned to work in February after having her son Arlo, who is eight months old.
It was initially thought that she would front the 5pm news and skip the 7pm bulletin on Five for just a few months.
But it is now understood that the arrangement will be permanent and Natasha is prepared for a cut in her pay, which has been reported to be £1 million.
Negotiations to sort out the details of the changes are understood to be continuing.
The broadcaster is expected to revamp its evening news schedule, which could involve a slightly earlier 6.30pm show.
A source close to Kaplinsky told The Sun: “She knows that she will not keep her big salary, and she is not worried about that. It’s about getting the right work-life balance.”
A spokeswoman for Five declined to comment.
