Ha! I bet that headline made you read on.

And wouldn’t it be a scoop, especially after poor Annie’s split from her money laundering fraudster boyfriend Raffaello Follieri (never trust a guy with that many consonants in his name), which involved not only the world media but also the FBI, who seized her personal diaries as part of their investigation. Gasp! Is that how you treat a Hollywood Princess?

No, I don’t think Ms Hathaway will be rushing into marriage anytime soon. I am of course talking about her latest film, Bride Wars, which is out today and sees Anne fighting it out with fellow bride-to-be Kate Hudson. It’s handbags (or rather wedding bouquets) at dawn and looks like a good laugh:

But the reason Annie’s been in the news this week is because of this: Little star Yes, a tiny little star. But it was next to her name. ‘So what?’ you say. Well, the little star was shining brightly on the Golden Globes official website. In the list of this year’s nominees for the Best Actress award. Someone did a boo-boo alright, and I’m sure Bride Wars’ PR team are loving the piggy-back advertising ride.

The award, if she does indeed turn out to be the winner, will however be for her role as Kym, a woman fresh out of rehab attending her sister’s wedding in Rachel Getting Married

The Princess Diaries movies, Ella Enchanted, The Devil Wears Prada and Becoming Jane – and she is very convincing with that angelic face. But Rachel Getting Married and previous movie choices like Havoc and Brokeback Mountain indicate that Ms Hathaway is eager to show a different side to her acting.

She is currently working on Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland, in which she plays The White Queen alongside Johnny Depp, Michael Sheen, Helena Bonham Carter and Alan Rickman. And she was also recently announced as the new face of Lancôme, who no doubt will cash in on her beautiful visage.

So I think we’ll be seeing a lot more of this bright star in 2009 – Golden Globe or not.

Rachel Getting Married is out in the UK on 23 January and the 66th annual Golden Globes will be broadcast live this Sunday from the Beverly Hilton in L.A.
