Nick Grimshaw has addressed his exit from the X Factor judging panel after just one series on his BBC Radio 1 Breakfast show. And it has something to do with Simon Cowell failing to curry favour with the DJ by, well… failing to provide actual curry!
The DJ said that his reasoning behind leaving the show because he’d much rather watch the show with a curry than be on it. Yes, you heard that right!

Speaking about his time on the talent show, he said: “I loved it, I did love it and it’s not a diss to the show. This is not me storming out of X Factor saying, ‘Screw you, Cheryl.’ It’s a great show and I loved it but it’s a once-in-a-lifetime thing.”
Then he got to the heart of the matter – joking Simon Cowell’s broken korma promise.
Grimmy continued: “You can’t have a curry on it on a Saturday night when you’re there. What’s good about The X Factor is watching at your friend’s house while you’re having a curry. When you’re there, there’s no curry. Simon promised me curry.”
There’s no bad blood, claimed Grimmy (Daniel Leal-Olivas/PA)
“I genuinely loved it, there’s not bad blood but I want to watch it on the telly,” he added.
But he was more than happy to joke about the horrors of working on the show, shrieking, “Don’t do it!” when asked if he had any advice for potential replacements.
He added: “It is really fun, it’s a riot and its not just Saturdays and Sundays, it’s every single day so it becomes your life and you’ll have a great time.”
Louis Tomlinson and Louis Walsh have both been rumoured for the leftover judges chair.
