Scherzinger – who appeared as a guest judge on the UK X Factor in 2010 – said she was ‘thrilled’ to be hosting the show while Jones – who fronts T4 on Channel 4 – added that he ‘couldn’t be happier’ with the job.
According to the BBC News website, Simon Cowell has said the pair will be ‘great together’ on the show which begins in the autumn.
“I have always wanted Steve to work with us, I think he is a real star,” Cowell said.
“Nicole is fantastic. I loved working with her on The X Factor last year. She is gorgeous and super-talented.”
Jones said, “The ability to work day in and day out with Simon Cowell is a dream come true.
“I have been approached about working in the States before, but never felt right about those opportunities, but when The X Factor came up, I leapt at the opportunity.”
Earlier in the week it was announced that Cheryl Cole would be joining Simon Cowell as a judge on the show, along with Antonio ‘LA’ Reid.
Speculation continues to mount over who will replace Cowell and Cole on the UK show when it returns later this year.
