Nicole Scherzinger has reportedly been offered £500,000 to join the judging panel of The X Factorpermanently as a replacement for Kelly Rowland.

According to The Sun the Pussycat Doll is set to seal the deal this week after proving to be a hit as a guest judge at the London auditions.

And she also received the seal of approval from Gary Barlow.

“We are talking about Nicole taking on the job full-time,” a source told the paper. “She is the only person in the frame.

“It’s now down to money and whether she can commit to the show, which takes up most of the rest of the year. She has given us positive signs. But no-one is counting their chickens after what happened with Dannii Minogue.

Dannii had been tipped to return after Kelly Rowland made her exit – but show bosses failed to reach a deal with her, leaving them with a vacancy on the panel just days before auditions began last month.

Since then a number of guest judges, including Geri Halliwell and Rita Ora, have stood in at auditions in London and Liverpool.

It would not be Nicole’s first brush with The X Factor, having appeared as a guest judge at the 2010 auditions. She was also a judge on the X Factor USA in 2011, having been brought in after Cheryl Cole was dropped from the panel.
